Thank you for helping us to take action for children – all year round!
Wednesday 5 June 2019
It seems that we say it every year: time flies!
It’s hard to believe that it’s already June, signalling that the second quarter of 2019 is coming to a close soon. But what’s far from over are the aims we have yet to accomplish for children.
Save the Children South Africa may be part of the world’s largest independent development and rights-based organisation for children . . . it may be represented in 120 countries worldwide . . . but that would be of little comfort to a child who’s going hungry, is a victim of violence or can’t access health care services. And that’s why we remain humble, focused and true to our mission – and why we’re so grateful for the support of friends like you – who help us to secure change for children – especially the most vulnerable.
Our vision – one that you’re sure to share with us – is that every child in South Africa realise their right to survival, education, protection, development and participation in decisions that directly affect their lives.
When children can’t fulfil their potential or their development is stunted by poverty and circumstances beyond their control, how will they mature into self- supporting, productive citizens, ready and able to contribute to society?
As artist Stacia Tauscher once said: ‘We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.’
Thank you for helping us to safeguard ‘today’ for children in so many important ways . . . and for recognising that there’s no time to waste in reaching children in need.
