GOT A QUESTION?
-
About donating to Save the Children South Africa
-
Every child deserves to have a good start in life and the best conditions for a successful future. However, many children in South Africa are not having the same opportunities to develop and reach their full potential.
YOU have the power to change this reality. Not only for the children in South Africa, but for your future too.
By supporting a quality education, an improvement in health and nutrition, you will also facilitate the promotion and protection of your rights, spaces free of violence and gender equity in your school, your home and your community.
Our promise to you is to share the stories of children whose lives you are changing.
-
How is my donation impacting the community?
-
Check out our 2016 Annual Report to learn more about how we changed lives for children in South Africa.
-
Why do you spend money on contacting the public instead of spending my money on your programme services?
-
We contact our supporters for various reasons; to thank them, let them know about our work and sometimes to ask for more help.
We’re really grateful for all the support we receive but we want to reach out to as many children as possible so sometimes we will ask if you’re able to increase your support or make a one off donation to a specific cause.
Of course, if you would prefer not to receive letters or phone calls from us, we understand.
To change the way we contact you please call our Supporter Care team on +27 (0)12 430 7775 or email them at [email protected], letting us know your full address and name so we can find your record and make the relevant changes.
Regarding the second part of your question, in fiscal year 2015, on average, 90% of all expenditures support programme services. 89% is an average for all of Save the Children’s programmes worldwide. Here is a breakdown by programme areas:More information about our finances and the use of funds is available in our our 2016 Annual Report.
-
Why are monthly donations so important?
-

The nature of our programmes allows us to respond quickly to changing circumstances so know that your monthly donation will be put to use wherever the needs of the children are the greatest. Donations made through the www.savethechildren.org.za website are secure to the fullest extent possible.
