WHERE LITTLE ONES HAPPILY LEARN

Thursday 7 November 2019
As its name suggests, the Happy Living and Learning project makes it possible for children under five years of age to enjoy a safe and stimulating learning – and living – environment to reach their full potential.

Aimed at more than 1200 children, their care- givers and parents and 60 Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners, the project is thriving in Ugu district in KwaZulu-Natal, as well as in the Umdoni, Umzumbe, Ray Nkonyeni and Umuziwabantu municipalities.

While a major part of this project involves improving the knowledge, skills and practices of ECD practitioners, parents are also involved in order to provide ‘healthy life’ activities for their young children.

In this way, the good work being undertaken at Save the Children-supported ECD centres also continues after ‘school’, reaching right into the youngsters’ homes. Thank you for helping us to ensure that child development and caring goes full circle!

About: Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In South Africa and around the world, we give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.

Note to the Editor: If children are affected, we’ve got something to say. Our team of experts are available for comments, interviews and information.
