We recognize that building a more equitable and inclusive future begins in childhood. That’s why we will do whatever it takes to champion the rights of every last child, ensuring they grow up healthy, educated, and safe.
In South Africa, we work every day with some of the most marginalized children, those who, from birth, have faced injustice and deprivation in every aspect of their lives. Unless systemic inequality is confronted and dismantled, these children will remain trapped in cycles of poverty that threaten their futures.
As our founder, Eglantyne Jebb once said, “Change is within reach – if we have courage, determination, imagination and effective organization.”
We acknowledge that change must also happen within our own organisation and across the wider iNGO sector. We are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace, in the communities we serve, and in the policies we influence nationally and globally.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief; every child deserves a future. We know you share this belief, too.
We call on institutions, the public and private sectors, and individuals everywhere to join us in challenging discrimination in all its forms and dismantling the structures that perpetuate it. Each of us has a role to play. By listening, learning, and standing up to injustice, together we can actively fight inequality and create lasting change.
